Laurent Delaporte
Laurent Delaporte was Vice President, Microsoft Advertising for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. His key focus in this role is growing digital advertising revenue across Microsoft's advertising portfolio (MSN, Windows Live, Xbox Live, Xbox.com, Office Online, Microsoft Media Network, Bing, and Ciao) and across multiple devices (PC, phone, web). Immediately prior to joining Microsoft Advertising, Laurent was Vice President, Marketing, Strategy and Operations for Microsoft's Consumer & Online (C&O) division. During his 17-year tenure with Microsoft, Laurent has held a number of senior positions both in Sales and Marketing, most notably Deputy General Manager & Marketing officer for the French subsidiary for three years, and Vice President EMEA, building the Small, Medium Business Solutions and Partner group for Microsoft EMEA between 2000 and 2005. Credited with delivering double-digit growth and sales for C&O EMEA, Laurent also drove the success of high-profile launches including Vista, Office 2007, and Server Wave 2008. In addition, he grew both OEM and retail sales across the company's consumer business in Europe. His experience of increasing sales and growing Microsoft businesses across Windows PC, Windows Phone, Windows Live, and MSN make him well placed to lead Microsoft Advertising, as opportunities for brands working with Microsoft extend beyond the browser onto multiple devices. Building on these experiences, Laurent will expand and develop the Microsoft Advertising business, by driving new opportunities for businesses to connect with consumers across three screens, while focusing on building and sustaining strong relationships with advertisers, agencies, and CMOs. Passionate about brands and the possibilities that digital media offers, Laurent is committed to supporting and growing both Microsoft's digital advertising business and the growth of the digital marketing industry as a whole. Laurent graduated with a Computer Science Masters Degree from the Polytechnic Institute in New York and with an executive Master degree from Insead. He is married with four children and has a passion for sailing.
